Reading Across MyPyramid

Reading Across MyPyramid is a nutrition and literacy curriculum developed for children grades K-3. This curriculum helps children become aware of food and nutrition by reading storybooks with food-related themes and then participating in hands-on nutrition and physical activities.
Reading Across MyPyramid includes teacher background information, lesson overviews, several activities within each lesson that can be manipulated if necessary to fit each classroom, healthy recipe ideas and family letters in English and Spanish.
Reading Across MyPyramid is clearly divided into chapters that include each food group, making a meal, physical activitiy, eating a variety of foods and food safety. This curriculum comes with 2 booksets; one for grades K-1 and another for grades 2-3.
This is a very popular and useful curriculum UC Cooperative Extension offers. We have prepared many lessons for classrooms using Reading Across MyPyramid and the students and teachers love the healthy tastings that go along with each lesson.
